Boo!

Tonight is Halloweeen... One of the most expected days for children, especially in US and Britain, together with Christmas Day. But it's not a public holiday, so everyone today is at work or school as it should be! But tonight is Halloween, no matter what!


Now, Don’t be fooled by the promotion of Halloween being a fun, candy-filled holiday with cute kids in adorable costumes, Halloween haunts go a lot deeper than that.A true Halloween “haunted house” will make you scream like you’ve never screamed before and will send your blood pressure racing...

L.E.G. Intercambio de Idiomas (Language Exchange Group)

Language Exchange groups in Arucas


The Gran Canaria Language Exchange is a great initiative for the whole island created by Spanish and English tutor Theresa Coe (theresacoe@gmail.com)

A cost-free opportunity to improve your conversation in  English, German, French, ...
Volunteers lead language exchange meetings and parties/events in Las Palmas (six per week), Arucas (Tuesdays),(Plaza de San Juan, Cafetería El Parque. Telde (Thursdays), Arguineguin (Thursdays), Playa del Ingles (Sundays), San Fernando (Tuesdays), Valsequillo (Fridays) and many more eg Spanish conversation club and English conversation club in San Fernando; German-Spanish club in Las Palmas; two French-Spanish clubs in Las Palmas plus two English conversation clubs in the capital. This Week We Celebrate


What do you do on Saint Valentine’s Day?

This has become a great business on behalf of love. But how much do we know about the origins of this celebration?

    The exact person we honor on February 14, St. Valentine, is hidden in the obscurities of the first three centuries of Church history. The feast may be in honor of a priest, Valentine, who was known to counsel and marry young couples.  This was at the time when Roman law persecuted Christians, so Valentine eventually incurred the wrath of Emperor Claudius II and was imprisoned.  When Valentine turned his attention to converting the Emperor himself, Claudius had him put to death.

Cultural Week


15th & 16th February

NOTE: This is not  holiday time yet.
This is by us all and for us all!



HELLO everyone! Next week we'll have two days to enjoy learning in a different way, while we are having more fun than is usual :-)


On Wednesday and Thursday there will be  several activities : competitions, Trivia quizzes, karaoke, cinema, workshops,theatre , musicals, dance, contests and tasting the best cakes from  YOU, students!... and more!




COMPETITIONS/ CONTESTS
1. BOOKMARKERS: please bring them to the school before Wednesday
Don't forget to write your name and group at the back. 

2.  WHO is WHO? Teachers photos from yesteryears.
3. POEMS: write a poem in 60-80 words (image attached)...
4. MINISAGAS: write a complete story in
    EXACTLY 50 words. People
    will vote the best ones during the week. Give it
    to your teacher before Wednesday too!

5. CAKES: have yours ready for Thursday at
    5.30 p.m. Remember to email your teacher the
    recipe in English. We'll give a booklet with all the recipes to
    everybody who participates!


PRIZES will be given to the best three in all categories.
There will also be prizes for those who just take part in the events!

You'll get further information on Monday.
